Founder and Tour Guide
I am a self-proclaimed “food evangelist.” This
translates into a huge love of eating, shopping for, and talking
about, FOOD. I studied Management and Marketing at the Wharton
School, then moved to Chicago to work in Brand Management at
Quaker Oats. My husband’s job brought us to Seattle,
where we’ve
never been happier to be so close to fresh seafood, local wine, and artisan cheese.
In my spare time, I enjoy snowboarding, reading
cooking magazines, and watching reality TV. My favorite foods
include: scrapple (if you bring me some, I’ll love you
forever), sushi, raw oysters, and shrimp and grits. You couldn’t
pay me to eat durian.

Tour Guide
Hailing from Louisiana, I was raised to love food.
I fondly remember hours in the kitchen observing fine food preparation
at its best, and even more fondly remember eating that great
food! Currently in graduate school, I hope to use my skills and
talents to bring hope and life to others. I love being with people
and enjoy introducing them to both Seattle and to the Pike Place
Market community.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and our dog, reading, and
watching movies (I have a list of 1,000 movies to see before
I die). I love Cajun and Southern cooking as well as great Italian
food. Put a big bowl of gumbo or jambalaya in front of me and
we're friends for life. However, you couldn't pay me enough to
eat pickled pigs feet. Or pickled eggs. Or pickles. |

Tour Guide
As a Seattle native and nutrition professional, food isn’t just a hobby;
I eat, drink and breathe Northwest cuisine….literally! While studying
biology and anthropology at the University of Kentucky, I discovered a deep interest
in the way food impacts both our day-to-day lives and the course of society as
a whole. I have since completed a degree in nutrition and food-science and am
a Registered Dietitian as of July 2008. Through my passion for sharing local
food lore and history, I hope to create a stronger appreciation for seasonal
and sustainable agriculture and aquaculture.
I enjoy experimenting in my kitchen, exploring the great Pacific Northwest by
foot, and discovering new flavors and previously unknown eateries. My favorite
foods include: urban blackberries, leeks, frozen desserts, and clotted cream.
I’ll try almost anything once, but you won’t find me going back for
a second bite of broccoli or anything heavy on the celery.

Tour Guide
Originally from Faribault, Minnesota, I moved to Washington
in late 2000. I have found my true home here in Seattle. I live
here with my wife and 2 year old son, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 snakes.
I have spent over 10 years working in a variety of restaurants
making delicious creations, but also learning about how food changes
and impacts our collective history and lives. I love to share good
food with people...and a good story and a bad joke!
I enjoy camping, hiking and white water river rafting
and traveling the world with my family. My favorite foods would
have to be corned beef and cabbage with fresh baked soda bread,
and a healthy piece of apple crisp. You couldn't pay me to eat…wait
a sec, who am I kidding? You could pay me to eat about anything.
I'll try anything once! |
